look down on me

so here I am all alone at last

we didnÕt know weÕd have to leave so fast

I wonder if you can see me now

maybe you can hear my voice somehow

the doctors know how to string you along

everything they said turned out to be wrong

made us think that they had the answer

but nothing that they tried ever stopped the cancer

I hope that youÕre in heaven

and IÕm trying to believe

but if youÕre really up there

please donÕt look down on me

I hope youÕre doing all the things I said

I left a spare blanket underneath your bed

IÕll hide the laundry and IÕll wave your flag

but living your life would be such a drag

I know you better since youÕre not around

were you surprised by the things you found?

well everybodyÕs got another side

and certain things that they try to hide

you better have realistic dreams

the futureÕs not as long as it seems

itÕs hard enough trying to carry on

without your love here to keep me strong

what do you think -- what can i say

IÕm the one whoÕs got to live today

no oneÕs gonna fight your war when youÕre gone

once youÕre in the ground, youÕre gonna get walked on

no oneÕs gonna fight your war when youÕre gone

once youÕre in the ground, youÕre gonna get walked on

I hope that youÕre in heaven

and you like the things you see

but if youÕre really up there

please donÕt look down on me
